Man dies after Canterbury crash

A man has died after his car left the road near Canterbury yesterday afternoon (Monday 27 April 2009).
Police and other emergency services were called to a crash on Shalloak Road at Broad Oak near Canterbury at 12.15pm.
The man who died lived locally and his family have been informed. His name is being released by police until formal identification has taken place.
Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are investigating and have appealed for any witnesses who may have seen a collision between the green Renault 19 being driven towards Canterbury by the man who died and a blue Ford Focus that was waiting to turn right into Chapel Lane at Broad Oak. Following the minor collision the Renault then left the road and ended up in a ditch. The Ford Focus driver was not injured.

Shalloak Road was closed  from its junction with Broad Oak Road to Sweechgate, until 4pm.
