Witness appeal following attack on 14 yr old girl

Police are appealing for witnesses after a 14-year-old girl was pushed to the ground and an attempt made to take her handbag in Whitstable on Friday evening.
The girl from Faversham was with another girl, aged 15 from Whitstable, when they walked past a large group of young people near Cushings Walk at about 10.15pm. The group were abusive towards the girls who kept walking. A young girl in the group, aged about nine or 10 and wearing a white track suit, then approached the 14-year old and pulled her to the ground. She could then feel her bag being pulled  but she held on to it and got away.
Anyone who knows the name of the young girl or can help police with information should contact PC Alan Pedwell on 01227 868264.
